"Tyson is a kid with a great understanding of the game of baseball and he loves to play. He is talented and willing to do whatever is asked of him based on the TEAM FIRST concept. He is a versatile player defensively, as we ask him to play 2B, but he is capable of playing 3B, SS and could play OF if necessary. Offensively he has hit in the top 3 spots in our line up, since his sophomore year, with great success. He has a great work ethic and desire to get better. He is a true competitor who hates to lose. He plays with the heart, passion and intensity that the game deserves. He is a good student in the classroom and quality citizen in the community. As Tyson's High School Coach, it is my opinion that your program would benefit greatly with Tyson as a member."

Words from The GHS Principal

I have known Tyson his whole life. I had the opportunity to coach football with Tyson’s father, Jeff for 15 years. I have had the pleasure of watching Tyson grow up.

I was a football coach for 20 years and a baseball coach for 15 years at Grantsville High School before I went into administration. During my first year as an administrator I had the opportunity to coach a group of eighth graders in a fall baseball league. Tyson was a member of the team. My daughter had been diagnosed with diabetes that summer. My family and I were participating in the Diabetes Walk that fall. The whole team of young men that I was coaching that fall showed to walk in support of me and my family. I had not mentioned the walk to any of them. I was extremely touched by their gesture. All of those young men including Tyson showed great character, love and selflessness that day.

Tyson is a phenomenal athlete. He is a three sport athlete. He is starting on this year’s football team on both sides of the ball. He was a varsity starter as a sophomore on the baseball team. In my opinion he could have started as a freshman. As a junior this year he will be one of the key members on the team. He is a team leader. His teammates look to him for leadership as do his coaches.

Tyson is a fine young man. I have already spoken about his character, it is above reproach. He is an excellent student. He works diligently on his academics as well as his athletics. As Tyson’s principal I have never seen him in my office for anything but good. Tyson is the type of young man that I hope my daughters choose to date when they are old enough.

Tyson goes above and beyond what is expected of him. He would be an asset to any program that he becomes a part of. I would be happy to speak further on his behalf at any time. I can be reached at the numbers below.
